At an Open Meeting held on November 24, 2009 Texas Railroad Commissioners voted to intervene in each Texas Public Utility Commission docket related to the issuance of Certificates of Convenience and Necessity to the transmission service providers who will build the transmission lines to serve the Texas Competitive Renewable Energy Zones (“CREZ”).  In a report submitted to the Texas RRC in October 2009 Professional Right of Way Services, Inc. expressed concern that the proposed transmission line routes cross oil and gas fields without consideration to the location of existing active and inactive wells, and that the Texas RRC needs to evaluate any potential impact of the proposed routes on oil and gas operations.
