The American Tradition Institute and the American Tradition Partnership, joined by Morrison, Colorado businessman Rod Lueck,  have filed a federal law suit to challenge Colorado’s renewable energy standard (RES).  Colorado’s RES requires that large utilities acquire thirty (30) percent of their energy from renewable resources by 2020.   The law suit alleges that the RES causes  increased prices for consumers, violating the U.S. Constitution’s Commerce Clause by imposing a burden on interstate markets for electricity.     The Colorado Attorney General’s office says the state law is defensible, and they plan to defend the law.
