Natural Gas-Fired Power Plants

Stahl, Davies, Sewell, Chavarria & Friend, LLP provides counsel to clients in the development and financing of some types of traditional electric generation facilities, including natural gas-fired power plants. Our work includes helping identify a suitable plant location, securing the real estate rights for the facility (land purchase contracts and options, leases, and easements), and drafting documents necessary for ancillary rights such as water rights and pipeline easements. We also help negotiate and draft property tax incentive agreements and construction agreements for these projects. Moreover, our attorneys have experience supporting generators in their effort to finance such development activities, including the review of debt and/or equity instruments to facilitate these transactions and the issuance of opinion letters.
