“Record-low bids for wind-plus-storage in Colorado revealed a small premium for battery coupling, highlighting bullish outlooks on cost reductions and revenue opportunities, industry experts told New Energy Update. Power tender results published by Colorado’s Xcel Energy last month revealed record-low bids for U.S. wind-plus-storage projects. Xcel received 11 different bids for eight wind-plus-storage projects totaling 5.1 GW. The median price of bids was $21/MWh, only slightly higher than the median price for stand-alone wind projects of $18.1/MWh.”
